It signifies that we can effectively and efficiently inspect and assess storm damage to all major types of residential roofs, including composition, wood, tile, slate, and metal. This expertise is crucial for ensuring your insurance claim is handled accurately.

You are an Atlas PRO+ Diamond Level Installer. What benefits does that provide to me as a homeowner?

Storm Damage & The Insurance Claim Process

Will I be responsible for paying my insurance deductible?

Yes, as the homeowner, you are legally responsible for paying your insurance deductible. The payment is typically made directly to us after the work is completed and you have received your insurance funds. Our commitment to honesty and integrity means we handle all claims ethically and in accordance with state laws and insurance regulations.

My insurance check is made out to both me and my mortgage company. How do I handle that?

This is a very common and normal part of the process. Your mortgage company is listed because they have a financial interest in ensuring your home is fully repaired. The process typically involves getting the check endorsed by your mortgage lender, who may require an inspection or certain documentation from us before releasing the funds. Our team has guided many homeowners through this exact situation and can help you navigate the necessary steps with your lender.

What is a "supplemental claim" and when is it necessary?

A supplemental claim, or “supplement,”(also referred to as a change order) is an additional claim made to your insurance company when hidden or unforeseen damage is discovered after the initial inspection and estimate have been approved. For example, if we remove your old shingles and find rotted wood decking underneath, we would file a supplement (change order) with photo evidence to ensure the cost of replacing that decking is also covered by your insurance. Our HAAG certified expertise is crucial for accurately documenting these necessary additions.

My neighbors are getting their roofs replaced after a storm. Should I get an inspection even if I don't see damage?

Yes, you absolutely should. The website states that hail and wind damage can often be subtle and overlooked by an untrained eye. A professional inspection can identify hidden problems before they become costly emergencies, and we offer free storm damage inspections for this very reason.

I think I have storm damage. What is the absolute first thing I should do?

The first and most important step is to ensure you and your family are safe and any immediate hazards are addressed. After that, the next step is to document any visible damage by taking photographs and making a list of the affected areas of your home.

Should I call my insurance company or a contractor like you first?

While the process can vary, getting a professional inspection from us is a crucial first step. We can identify subtle damage and provide you with a detailed inspection report that is invaluable when you file your insurance claim. We offer free storm damage inspections to help you understand the extent of the damage before you contact your insurance provider.

Can you provide a temporary or emergency repair (like tarping) to prevent further water damage?

Yes. As part of our storm damage response, we address any immediate hazards and work to make your property secure to prevent further issues.

How does your insurance claim assistance process work, from start to finish?

We guide you through the entire process:

  1. After the storm, you document the damage and file a claim with your insurance provider.
  2. You hire us to manage the project.
  3. You schedule an inspection with the insurance provider. You let us know the time and date of the inspection. Your Company Sales Rep will be on site to meet with insurance.
  4. We review the adjuster’s summary with you to ensure all damage is accounted for.
  5. Once you receive your first insurance payment (the Actual Cash Value or ACV check), we begin the restoration work.
  6. After completion, we send the final bill to your insurance company.
  7. Your insurance company releases the final payment (the depreciation), and you make the final payment to us.
Will you be there to meet my insurance adjuster? Why is that a good idea?

Yes, absolutely. We believe in a collaborative approach and will meet with your insurance adjuster on-site. You let us know the time and date the adjuster will be there. This ensures that everyone is on the same page, every detail is considered, and our professional assessment of the damage is shared directly with your insurer.

What is an "adjuster's summary," and why is it important for you to review it?

An adjuster’s summary is the report from your insurance company detailing the scope of loss and the approved repairs. It is critical that we review this summary with you to check for any discrepancies and ensure all damages we identified have been accounted for, guaranteeing you receive the full coverage you deserve.

What if my insurance claim is denied? What are my options?

Even if your claim has been denied, we can still help. We encourage you to contact us, as our experts can review the situation and work to find and deliver the perfect solution for your property.

How long does the insurance process typically take, from filing the claim to the final payment?

The duration can vary based on many factors. However, the provided content notes that after the work is completed, the final billing and payment process with the insurance company can take an estimated 2 to 8 weeks. For a more detailed timeline specific to your situation, it is best to consult with our team.

Our Services & Products

Roofing

What is a complete roofing system? Is it more than just the shingles?

Absolutely. A truly durable, long-lasting roof is a complete system of components working together. While shingles are the most visible part, a complete system installed by our experts includes:

  • Ice & Water Shield: A critical waterproof barrier applied to the most vulnerable areas of your roof.
  • Underlayment: A layer of material across the entire roof deck that provides a secondary weather barrier.
  • Shingles: The primary layer of protection and the main design element of your roof.
  • Proper Ventilation: A system of intake and exhaust vents that regulate attic temperature and moisture, extending the life of your roof and preventing ice dams.
Why is proper roof ventilation important, especially in Minnesota?

Proper ventilation is one of the most critical aspects of a healthy roof in our climate. In the winter, it helps prevent warm, moist air from being trapped in your attic, which is a primary cause of condensation, mold, and the ice dams that can damage your roof and gutters. In the summer, it allows hot air to escape, reducing the strain on your air conditioning and preventing your shingles from overheating, which can shorten their lifespan.

What is the Atlas Shingle Visualizer and how can I use it?

The Atlas Shingle Visualizer is a fantastic app that helps you see what your home would look like with new shingles. You can download the “Atlas Select Your Roof” app for your iPad, take a photo of your home, and then experiment with different shingle styles and colors to find the perfect look before making a final decision.

I see dark streaks on my roof. What are they and should I be concerned?

Those dark streaks are likely unsightly algae, which can disfigure your roof and compromise its reliability over time. We offer a solution with the Scotchgard™ Algae Resistant Roofing System to keep your roof functional and stain-free.

What is involved in your free roof inspection? What do you look for?

Our free roofing inspection is a meticulous examination of your roof’s condition. We look for signs of wear and tear, including missing or damaged shingles, granule loss, and sagging. We also check for potential leaks and inspect the flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights to ensure they have a proper seal and their integrity is intact.

What is the benefit of the Scotchgard™ Algae Resistant System on Atlas shingles?

The primary benefit is that it protects your roof from unsightly algae, ensuring you have a functional and stain-free roof for decades. These shingles retain their original factory luster without needing frequent cleaning and are designed to stand up to the Midwest’s harshest elements.

What shingle brands and product lines do you recommend for Minnesota's climate?

We install high-quality materials from leading brands known for their durability. We feature Atlas shingles, including the Pinnacle Impact and Pinnacle Pristine lines with Scotchgard™ protection, and TAMKO shingles, which are built with ForceFX™ polymer technology for unmatched all-weather protection.

Can I see samples of different shingle colors and styles?

Yes. When we provide repair services for a leaking roof, we will bring product samples with us so you can make an informed choice right on the spot. Atlas shingles are available in a wide selection of colors and different product lines.

My roof has a small leak. Can it be repaired, or do I need a full replacement?

We are always available to address leaking roofs. Our experts can pinpoint the exact location of a leak and provide the necessary repairs to solve the problem. A professional inspection is the best way to determine if a targeted repair is sufficient or if a full replacement is the more appropriate solution for your roof’s condition.

Siding

What are the main advantages of steel siding compared to vinyl?

Both are great options, but they have different strengths. Steel siding is renowned for its exceptional durability and resistance to impact from hail or debris. It will not crack in extreme cold and holds its color very well over time. Vinyl siding is often more budget-friendly and offers excellent performance and low maintenance, but it can become more brittle in frigid temperatures and may not offer the same level of impact resistance as steel.

Can warped, cracked, or faded siding lead to more serious problems?

Yes. During our inspections, we assess siding for issues like cracks and loose panels that can allow for moisture intrusion, which could lead to hidden damage to your property.

What do you look for during a siding inspection?

Our free siding inspection includes a detailed assessment where our team checks for cracks, warping, rot, loose panels, and any signs of moisture intrusion that could cause underlying damage.

What siding brands do you install?

We have spent decades researching and evaluating siding from various manufacturers to select only the highest-quality products. We proudly feature and install Klauer Steel Siding and TruLog Steel Log Siding.  For Vinyl siding we recommend Royal Estate Vinyl siding.

How much maintenance does each type of siding require?

The products we offer are specifically selected because they require minimal maintenance while providing lasting value. Our featured Klauer Steel Siding products, for example, are noted as being low maintenance.

What is the range of colors and styles available for siding?

We offer a wide array of siding solutions so you can find the perfect fit for your home’s style. Our siding is available in a broad range of colors, finishes, and patterns, ensuring you can achieve the precise curb appeal you’re after.

Windows & Doors

What is involved in a typical window replacement and installation?

Our professional window installation is a detailed process to ensure maximum energy efficiency and longevity. While our exact 10-step process is tailored to your home, it generally includes carefully removing the old window, inspecting the opening for any damage, installing the new window to be perfectly level and plumb, insulating and air-sealing the gap around the frame, and finishing the interior and exterior trim for a beautiful, weather-tight result.

How do I know if it's time to replace my windows?

It may be time for replacement windows for several reasons. You might consider it if your current windows were damaged in a storm or accident, if you notice drafts or have operational issues, or if you simply want to lower your heating bills with new, energy-efficient smart windows.

What makes a window "energy-efficient"? Can you explain terms like U-factor and Low-E glass?

Our windows are engineered for energy efficiency through several key features. They contain panes of low-e glass that surround a specially formulated gas, which works to virtually eliminate unwanted heat transfer. In addition, the window frames are crafted from high-strength, low-conductivity materials that excel at retaining heat in the winter and keeping your home cooler in the summer. The provided content does not define the term “U-factor.”

Can new windows and doors really lower my energy bills?

Yes. Our energy-efficient windows are specifically engineered to deliver superior performance all year long and save you money on heating bills. By keeping you cooler in the summer and toastier when the snow is falling, they excel at retaining heat within your home, not the outdoors.

Do you install sliding patio doors and front entry doors?

Yes, we install new front and back doors. Our team of career contractors can help you select and install a new door that is certain to impress your guests.

Gutters & Ice Dams

What causes ice dams to form?

Ice dams are formed by a combination of snow cover, heat loss from your home, and freezing temperatures. When heat escapes from your attic, it melts the snow on the roof. This water runs down to the colder edge of the roof (the eaves) and refreezes, creating a “dam” of ice. As more water melts and gets trapped behind the dam, it can back up under your shingles and cause significant water damage to your roof, insulation, and even the inside of your home.

How do you safely remove ice dams without damaging my roof?

Safely removing ice dams is our top priority. We recommending using a company that uses professional-grade steaming equipment that gently melts the ice without the use of high pressure, blunt force, or chemicals that can severely damage your shingles and gutters. This method is the safest and most effective way to eliminate the ice dam and prevent immediate water intrusion.

How do I know if my gutters are working properly?

Properly functioning gutters are essential for directing water away from your home. Signs that they may not be working properly include visible blockages, improper slope, leaks, or insecure attachment to your home. Our free inspection includes a full evaluation of your gutters and downspouts to check for these issues.

What problems can clogged or damaged gutters cause to my home's foundation and roof?

Improperly functioning gutters can lead to costly problems. They can cause water damage to your home’s exterior, lead to leaks in your foundation, and cause erosion to your landscaping. Properly maintained gutters are essential for protecting your property’s structural integrity.

What are seamless gutters and how are they better than standard sectional gutters?

Our seamless gutters are custom-tailored to the specific dimensions of your home for a perfect fit. They feature concealed brackets for a sleek appearance that doesn’t interrupt your home’s architecture, and their baked-on enamel finish, available in a wide variety of colors, never requires painting. Most installations can be completed in a single day.

How do gutter protection systems (gutter guards) work? Are they worth the investment?

A gutter protection system is designed to provide convenience and protection for your home. It works by keeping debris and nesting animals out of your gutter system, which in turn prevents water damage to your home’s exterior. This system can be installed on existing gutters and blends seamlessly with your roofline, saving you from the task of ever having to dig disgusting debris out of your gutters again.

The Project Process: From Start to Finish

What happens if there is bad weather on the day my project is scheduled?

Your safety and the protection of your property are our top priorities. We constantly monitor the weather forecast. If conditions like high winds, heavy rain, or lightning make it unsafe to work, we will pause the project and ensure your home is secured and watertight. Our team will be in close communication with you to reschedule for the next available clear day.

How do you protect my property, like my landscaping and driveway, during installation?

Protecting your property is a critical part of our process. Before we begin, our crews take care to cover landscaping, A/C units, and other sensitive areas with tarps. We are mindful of where we place our equipment and materials to minimize impact on your lawn and driveway.

What does your post-project cleanup involve?

We believe in leaving your property as clean as, or cleaner than, when we arrived. Our cleanup process is thorough and includes hauling away all old materials and project debris. Critically, we perform multiple sweeps of your lawn, driveway, and garden beds with high-powered magnets to collect stray nails and fasteners.

What happens if an issue arises with the work after the project is completed?

Our relationship with you doesn’t end when the project does. If you have any concerns about the work after we’ve finished, simply give us a call. We stand behind our work with a rock-solid workmanship guarantee and are committed to ensuring your complete satisfaction.

How do I get started and request a free estimate?

To get started, you can simply fill out the form on our website or give us a call. You can reach us toll-free at 844-Ask-4Pro (844-275-4776) or contact one of our local offices in St. Cloud, Little Falls, or the Brainerd Lakes Area.

How long will it take to get my estimate after you visit my property?

We provide quick estimates because we know you’re eager to get your project underway. Our expert contractors can often provide an estimate on the spot. For more unique projects that require careful consideration, we guarantee we will deliver our estimate within 72 hours of our on-site visit.

Once I approve the project, how soon can you start?

We begin your project as soon as our schedule allows. Our clients typically wait less than a few weeks from the time they sign on with us to the time we begin work on their property.

How long will my entire project take, from tear-off to completion?

We strive to complete projects as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality. Most jobs take one to two days to complete. Once you have signed on with us, we will provide you with a solid timeline for your specific project.

Pricing, Financing & Warranties

What is the application process for GreenSky financing like?

The process is designed to be quick and easy. After we provide you with a project estimate, we will give you our GreenSky application ID. You can then apply securely online or by phone in just a few minutes. Most applicants receive a credit decision almost instantly, allowing you to move forward with your project without delay.

Are the product warranties transferable if I sell my home?

This is a great question, as a transferable warranty is a significant selling point for your home. The transferability depends on the specific manufacturer and product you choose. Many of the leading brands we work with do offer transferable warranties with their own specific terms. We will provide you with the detailed warranty information for the exact products you select for your project.

What is the difference between your workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's product warranty?

This is an important distinction. The manufacturer’s warranty covers the physical products themselves against defects (e.g., shingles, siding panels). The workmanship warranty is our personal guarantee to you. It covers the quality of our installation and labor. We provide both to ensure you are fully protected.

How long is your workmanship warranty and what exactly does it cover?

We stand confidently behind every job with our rock-solid workmanship guarantee, which covers the quality and performance of our installation work. Because every project is unique, we provide a detailed, written copy of the specific warranty terms and duration with every estimate. We are happy to review it with you and answer any questions you have.

Do you require a deposit for non-insurance projects?

The payment terms, including any deposit requirements, will be clearly outlined in your project proposal and contract. We believe in being fully transparent with all costs and payment schedules before any work begins. Please discuss the specifics with our representative during your free consultation.

Are your inspections and estimates 100% free, with no pressure or obligation?

Yes. We are committed to providing you with peace of mind. Our professional inspections and consultations are completely free and come with no obligation.

Can you explain your financing options through GreenSky? What are the typical terms?

Yes, we have partnered with GreenSky® to offer flexible and convenient payment options. They provide a variety of plans to fit your budget, including:

  • “Same-as-Cash” Plans: These promotional plans allow you to pay no interest if the project balance is paid in full within a set period (e.g., 6, 12, or 18 months).
  • Low Monthly Payment Options: These plans offer competitive interest rates with extended terms for manageable fixed monthly payments, with terms available up to 140 months.
How does the "Same-as-Cash" financing plan work?

With a “Same-as-Cash” plan, interest accrues during the promotional period, but it is completely waived if you pay the full project balance by the end of that period.
